Villafranca and its municipality have a complete offer of cultural activities aimed at the whole family. Conceived as nerve centers, the La Despernada Cultural Center and the El Castillo Civic Center promote cultural initiatives of all kinds: exhibitions, meetings, seminars, workshops, theater, musicals, etc.

The center promotes the initiation of sports and cultural practices, with classrooms dedicated to the Municipal Schools of Initiation in Music and Dance, English, Sports, a Reading Room (Municipal Library F. Lázaro Carreter) and an assembly hall with 200 seats, where theater performances, concerts and other cultural activities are scheduled.

Member of the Network of Theaters of the Community of Madrid, this center offers a wide cultural offer with a very diverse program that includes: theater, concerts, congresses, music, dance, video, zarzuela and opera.
In addition, the Center has three exhibition halls. The first for authors of recognized prestige, the second for novice artists who are beginning their career and the third reserved for the didactic exhibitions of the ITINER Network of the Community of Madrid.

With the usual book loan services, this library stands out for its warm and pleasant rooms for studying and reading. In addition, throughout the year, it programs different activities aimed at children such as storytelling, workshops or writing contests.
Likewise, the Library works for the preservation and dissemination of information of interest to the local community. For this purpose, it has a fund with works written by residents of the municipality; publications edited by the City Council of Villanueva de la Cañada, with its collaboration, or related to it; and funds on the history, customs, activities, economy, population, etc. of Villanueva.

From Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Gauadarrama Avenue, 20 - Villanueva del Pardillo (Madrid)
Very close to Villafranca, belonging to the Municipality of Villanueva del Pardillo, we find the Tamara Rojo Cultural Center.
This center has an assembly hall where cultural activities such as small-format theater or variety shows are scheduled.
In addition, it has a room that houses exhibitions included in the ITINER NETWORK of the Community of Madrid and generates its own exhibitions with the purpose of supporting contemporary creation in the disciplines of painting, photography or sculpture.
During the exhibition of many of the samples, educational workshops are held that seek the participation of adults and children.
Every year it includes in its programming an exhibition of local artists and the Circuit of Young Art in the northwest area of Madrid with the aim of recognizing and disseminating the work of young and local creators.
